Larne Harbour Berths and Facilities

Larne Harbour has 7 berths available in the main harbour complex, 4 of which are equipped with ro-ro ramps.  These berths are on the western side of the Lough all lying in a roughly north south direction, except Castle Quay which lies east west.

In addition, there are three other berths in the Lough not pictured below.
Ballylumford Oil Jetty capable of berthing and discharging medium sized tankers, situated on the eastern side of Larne Lough.  In addition to the oil jetty, a coal berth also exists at the power station and it handles small diesel tankers bringing fuel for the gas turbine power station.
The Bank Quay which is now closed but was used for coal boats is situated on the extreme western edge of the Lough about a mile from the main berths.
Magheramourne Cement Works, situated about three miles south of the main harbour at Blue Circle's old quarry.  It had mobile cranes and bulk powder suction equipment available for working coastal cargo vessels but it also has closed.
