Tanker Timashevsk Brings in the Oil
Ballylumford Power Station received an oil delivery from the Liberian registered tanker Timashevsk on 12/9/05. The tanker arrived from Milford Haven with a cargo of fuel oil and was all fast at Ballylumford B jetty at 1820. She was assisted into the port by Svitzer Marine tugs Norton Cross towing at the bow and Willowgarth providing braking force astern. Both tugs are normally based in Belfast and Willowgarth was making her first ever appearance at Larne Harbour. Local tug David F and workboat Elizabeth assisted on line running duties at the jetty.

After discharging her cargo of fuel oil, Timashevsk departed Ballylumford again on 14/9/05 at 0745. Once again towage was provided by the Belfast tugs Norton Cross and Willowgarth. The two tugs swung the tanker to starboard immediately off the oil jetty to get her pointing to sea and then assisted Timashevsk outward along the buoyed channel. Norton Cross was the first tug to be dismissed, dropping the tow wire at Chaine Memorial Tower while Willowgarth stayed hooked on a little longer, unhitching her drag line at number 3 buoy. Local tug Sarah McLoughlin picked up the pilot from the tanker once she had cleared the buoyed channel on her way south at 0830.
