History:
Ordered at the end of 2000 to partner her near sister ship, the European Causeway on the Larne to Cairnryan route. She left the Mitsubishi shipyard in Japan on the 1st of June 2002, arriving in Larne 26 days later. The ship entered service on the Larne to Cairnryan route on the 3rd of July, 2002 after berthing trials at both ports. She is actually slightly longer than the European Causeway, allowing her to squeeze in a few extra lorries.
Ran aground at Cairnryan on 8th January 2005 and was stuck for 30 hours before being freed on 9th January by the tugs Point Gilbert and Flying Phantom. Repaired at A&P Birkenhead.
